Training workshop of the ITU Center of Excellence «Prospects of introduction of the adaptive technologies for the transmission of multimedia content by radio channels»
On December 14, 2018 the training Workshop of the ITU Center of Excellence for the CIS «Prospects of introduction of the adaptive technologies for the transmission of multimedia content by radio channels» was held, organized by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) in cooperation with the O.S. Popov Odesa National Academy of Telecommunications (O.S. Popov ONAT).
38 participants from 3 countries were enrolled to the course. 30 participants took part in this course (7 face-to-face and 23 distant; 20 men and 10 women).
The Workshop Instructors
The main aim of the Workshop was to give the participants an idea of the use of adaptive models of color perception in the terminal devices of broadcast and multimedia channels, to present the key provisions of the compression methods development and prospective ways of their improvement, to uncover the question of spatial sound in modern broadcasting systems, to present the main opportunities and advantages of adaptive antenna systems usage in multimedia wireless networks, and to expand the idea of the effective use of cellular communication networks in urban areas.
The opening of the Workshop took place on December 14, 2018, during which Mr Petr Vorobiyenko, the Rector of the O.S. Popov ONAT, and Mr Farid Nakhli, Programme Officer of the ITU Regional Office for CIS, presented a welcome speech.
